05 AUG 2023. The Sound Poets band performed at the picturesque Bauska Castle Park on the second day of the Bauska TASTE 2023 music festival on the main stage

The energetic performance by The Sound Poets at this year’s Bauska TASTE music festival pleasantly surprised both the residents of Bauska and guests from various cities and countries. Their vibrant energy managed to captivate visitors of all ages. Additionally, the event was enhanced by the stunning surroundings of Bauska Castle Park.

About The Sound Poets band

The band’s origins date back to 2006 with the formation of Smaragda Pilsētas Burvji or S.P.B. In December 2008, they released the album “Sound Poetry” but disbanded a few years later. In 2011, former members Jānis Aišpurs and Normunds Lukša established The Sound Poets. Their first official concert was in December of that year. During the summer of 2012, The Sound Poets supported Prāta Vētra on their Latvian concert tour “Vēl Viena Klusā Daba” (Another Silent Nature) which helped them gain broader recognition.

The Sound Poets released their debut album “Tavs Stāsts” in spring 2013. It was nominated for the annual “Golden Microphone” award by Latvian Music Records and won Best Pop-Rock Album of 2013

From 2014 to 2016, The Sound Poets held large-scale concerts on the Sigulda castle ruins stage. Their first concert recording was nominated for the 2015 Latvian Music Recording Annual Award “Golden Microphone” in the “Best Concert Recording Video” category.

The band’s second album “Pulsē” was released in 2015, winning the Latvian Music Recording Award “Golden Microphone” for “Best Pop Album” and receiving a special award for “Album of the Year”

In the spring of 2017, The Sound Poets embarked on a series of acoustic concerts titled “Joprojām” (Still), touring across Latvia. In October, the concert recording “Joprojām” (Still) was made available on digital platforms. The concert series also continued in December, totaling more than 20 performances. In the autumn of 2018, their third album “Trīs” (Three) was released, and to celebrate, the group announced their most grandiose concert at Arēna Rīga on October 20. This event was held in collaboration with special guests Agnes Rakovska, the group “DaGamba,” and the “Latvian Radio Big Band.”

The album “Trīs” was nominated for the Latvian Music Recording of the Year Award “Golden Microphone” 2019 in the category of “Best Pop Album.” It also received nominations for “Song of the Year,” “Radio Hits,” and “Origo Golden Song” for the album’s first single, “Ceļš”

In the spring of 2019, The Sound Poets released the single “Mīlestība” (Love), which was made in collaboration with singer Alisa Josti. Later in the fall of 2020, the group went on an acoustic concert series called “Klusāk” (More quietly). In the spring of 2022, The Sound Poets released the song “Pie Vienas Uguns” (At One Fire), accompanied by a video directed by Adriana Roze. It was the first single from the band’s fourth album of the same name, which was released later in April.

The band’s latest album “Pie Vienas Uguns” was nominated for the Latvian Music Recording of the year award “Golden Microphone” in the category “Pop Music Album”, and the title song of the album was nominated in the “Song of the Year” category

In October 2023, the group re-released their debut album “Tavs stāsts” (Your story) on vinyl. During the spring and autumn of 2023, The Sound Poets embarked on an acoustic concert tour “Pie Vienas Uguns”(At One Fire).
